Krysta,

That is a truly amazing video. This video goes a long way towards illustrating the points that both Jean Kilborune and Susan Bordo have been making quite eloquently this semester. Your mother has contribted to the class immensely with such a resource, how about that for the possibilities of sharing with web-based tools? Thanks for the link, great stuff!!!

Professor Groom,
I had my mom read over my paper, and while she was waiting for me to send it on email she was checking her own. It was a crazy that she received this one from her friend, right before she read mine. Dove has been coming out with a lot of new campaign slogans, and this is a new video that is very inspiring that they just released.
http://www.campaignforrealbeauty.com/
It displays an average women, who was beautified with makeup and hair, and then photoshopped before placed on a huge billboard. Check it out!

Cesar,

Long enough to answer the questions I layed out in the assignment. Did you put your essay in the wiki?

Kyle,

You can use actual advertisements from magazines and newspapers. Just be sure to save them, and be prepared to create a scanned version so that you can integrate these images into your text (we'll talk more about this process next week). For now, just be sure to describe the ad appropriately if the image is not available to your readers, although I am sure you would have done that anyway:).

Can we get actual advertisements out of magazines or should they be from the internet? If we can use them from magazines, do we need to put the picture in the wiki, or how would you like use to present them?

Sam,

These ads do not have to be for the same product, just the same audience.
Also, I just updated the assignment. You can also use online ads and include them in your wiki by creating a link to them. See the following tutorial for including images in mediawiki: Mediawiki Tutorial.
